Omani limestone and permanent facades

1 min read

Natural stone can outlast many of the buildings it is fixed to. Limestone from the region weathers slowly and suits the light and heat of the Gulf.

Designing for decades

A permanent facade depends as much on fixings, joints and drainage as on the stone itself. Detailing these correctly prevents staining, cracking and costly repairs.

Sourcing stone regionally also shortens transport distances and supports local quarrying and craft.
